
With regards to your last statement, just to clarify, the barrel is 3" magnum, but the receiver doesn't appear to be, so my concern is will the spent 3" shells even eject, and also, would the receiver be able to handle the extra punishment.Īnyways, I guess the point of this thread is to determine if indeed what he says is true - that early 1100s were not always marked with "M" and "magnum" on the receiver. Within a few minutes he replied that he had fired some 3" shells and it cycled fine, although in a previous correspondence the day before, he had said he had never fired it, but had cycled some 3" shells through the gun without firing them and it cycled fine. I asked him if he could go and fire a few 3" shells from it and report back. Once I pointed out that while the barrel may say " 3" magnum ", the received doesn't appear to be built for 3" shells, he said that older 1100s were not always marked with "magnum" or did not always have a serial number ending with "M". Before I started asking questions about the inconsistencies, the seller said he didn't know much about 1100s and had never fired the gun.
